Frequently asked questions
Can you draw plans without a survey first?
Yes. A lot of drafting on commission starts from a sketch, a PDF, photos, existing plans or measurements you supply yourself. If we have doubts about the dimensions or important information is missing, we tell you up front and suggest an on-site survey.
Which files will I receive?
DWG, DXF and PDF as standard. DWG is AutoCAD's native format and remains editable. Most CAD, CAM and nesting programs read DXF. PDF is for viewing and printing. If you do not have AutoCAD, you can open DWG files with the free DWG TrueView or with Autodesk Viewer.
What is the difference between iMesure and a land surveyor?
Licensed land surveyor (landmeter-expert) is a protected title. Only a licensed land surveyor can draw up plans for a notarial deed, a boundary demarcation or a land subdivision. iMesure draws plans and measures buildings and spaces for design, renovation, interiors and production. If your question concerns plot boundaries, we will refer you to one.
What do you need from me for a quote?
What needs to be drawn or measured and what it is for, any plans, sketches or photos you already have, the delivery format you want and your timing. For a survey, also the address or the town. On that basis, we send you a quote.
Is iMesure the same as dimensie.xyz?
Yes. iMesure is the new name for dimensie.xyz. Old links to dimensie.xyz automatically take you to the right page on imesure.com.
