Who we help

Drafting and measuring service for kitchen makers and kitchen retailers

Want to outsource drafting or have the final dimensions measured? iMesure draws floor plans, wall elevations and shop drawings in AutoCAD and surveys the kitchen after the sale, before production.

iMesure provides drafting on commission and a measuring service for kitchen makers and kitchen retailers. We draw the floor plans, wall elevations and shop drawings your production needs in AutoCAD. If dimensions are missing, our experts measure the room on site. Planning and production then work from one set of verified dimensions, and your salespeople keep time for their clients.

Drafting on commission for your kitchens

Your salespeople design the kitchen, but the technical drawings take time. You can outsource that drafting. From a sketch, a PDF, photos, an existing DWG or our survey, we draw in AutoCAD:

  • floor plans of the kitchen to scale, dimensioned in mm;
  • wall elevations with cabinets, openings and connection points;
  • shop drawings for bespoke work in and around the kitchen, such as an island, a wall of cabinets or a utility room, with developed elevations, dimensions and material lists;
  • DXF files for CAM/CNC and nesting;
  • on request, a 3D presentation in SketchUp for your client.

We draw with a clear layer structure, or to your own layers, pens and templates. For every kitchen, or as extra capacity in busy periods. See drafting on commission and shop drawings.

How a drafting job works

  1. Supply. You send what you have: a sketch, PDF, photos, an existing DWG or dimensions.
  2. Brief and quotation. We discuss the purpose, scale, level of detail, layers or template, delivery format and timing, then send a quotation.
  3. Drafting in AutoCAD. To scale, with dimensions and layers. We ask questions as we go.
  4. Check and delivery. You receive DWG, DXF and PDF. We discuss any changes together.

Drafting is fully digital, by email or download link, so it works anywhere, even outside our region. See how we work for all the steps.

Site survey by experts, after the sale, before production

Your client has signed, but nothing has been ordered or cut yet. Then our experts measure the room as it really is. We work with professional Leica laser measuring instruments on a tripod. With point-to-point measurement we record points in the room from a single set-up, including points we cannot touch. We measure what matters at installation:

  • wall lengths, diagonals and ceiling height;
  • corners and squareness, out-of-true or angled walls;
  • window and door openings with their reveals;
  • floor and ceiling levels;
  • visible services: water supply, waste, electrics and the connection for the extractor hood;
  • obstacles such as pipes, columns and radiators.

Every survey includes a report with photos. We do not measure services concealed in walls or floors. See kitchen measuring for what we record in a kitchen and site survey for how the technique works.

Do the dimensions fit your planning software?

Yes, if your planning software reads DXF or DWG. We draw up the survey in AutoCAD as a floor plan and wall elevations to scale, in mm. Import the DXF into your planning or CAM software and you do not retype walls and openings. The DWG is editable for your drawing office. The PDF is for your client.

Fewer adjustments on site

A cabinet that does not fit, a worktop that is too short, a socket that disappears behind a side panel: you only find out at installation. Then comes a second trip, a modified part or a refit. With verified dimensions and a correct drawing, you spot those problems on paper, where they are still easy to correct.

Measure in-house or have the kitchen measured?

That depends on how often you measure and who does it. If you measure every day and have trained staff, you can invest in an instrument and the processing yourself. Outsourcing to a measuring service pays off when your salespeople and fitters should focus on sales and installation, or when you need extra capacity in busy periods.

Scheduling with your client

The survey is at your client’s home or on site. We schedule the visit with you and your client, so the room is clear and someone is there. We speak Dutch, French or English. We survey in West and East Flanders, Hainaut and northern France, further afield on request. See our service area.

Frequently asked questions

Can iMesure do drafting without a survey?

Yes, iMesure also does drafting on commission without a survey. We work with what you supply: a sketch, a PDF, photos, an existing DWG or dimensions from your salesperson. From that we draw floor plans, wall elevations or shop drawings in AutoCAD. Because everything is digital, you can outsource drafting from anywhere. If reliable dimensions are missing, our experts measure the room on site.

Does iMesure draw to our own layers and templates?

Yes, on request iMesure draws to your company's layers, pens and templates. That way the drawings match what your drawing office and work preparation are used to. Without a template of your own, you receive plans to scale, with dimensions in mm and a clear layer structure. If your drawing office uses AutoCAD LT, you open and edit the 2D plans directly.

Does iMesure also produce shop drawings for bespoke work in and around the kitchen?

Yes, iMesure produces shop drawings for bespoke work in and around the kitchen, such as an island, a wall of cabinets or a utility room. You receive workshop and assembly drawings, developed elevations, dimensions and material lists. On request we assess feasibility and help you choose materials and hardware. The DXF files are suitable for CAM/CNC and nesting in your workshop.

In what format do I receive the drawings and dimensions?

You receive the drawings and dimensions in DWG, DXF and PDF. The DWG is the editable AutoCAD file for your drawing office. You import the DXF into planning or CAM software that supports DXF, so you do not retype walls and openings. The PDF is for reading, printing or passing on to your client. On request we also deliver 3D in SketchUp.

Does iMesure also measure services and connection points?

iMesure measures visible services and connection points: water supply, waste, electrics and the connection for the extractor hood, as well as obstacles such as pipes, columns and radiators. Photos in the survey report show what each connection looks like. We cannot measure services concealed in walls or floors. That information comes from your client or the installer.

Does the survey also provide the worktop dimensions?

The survey provides the basis for the worktop. The floor plan shows the wall lengths, angles and squareness that determine the shape of the worktop, as well as the position of openings and connections. That way you see in advance where a wall deviates. iMesure does not make templates. When and how the worktop manufacturer takes the final dimensions is something you agree with that manufacturer.

Drawings to produce or a space to survey?

Send us what you already have: a sketch, drawings, photos or the address. You receive a quote that states what we draw or measure and in which format you receive it.
