Where does iMesure work?
Drafting on commission works anywhere, because files and drawings go back and forth by email or download link. For a site survey, we come out to West and East Flanders, Hainaut (Mouscron, Tournai) and northern France (Lille, Roubaix, Tourcoing, Halluin). Further afield, including the Netherlands, we survey on request.
Drafting on commission, wherever you are
You do not need to be based in our region to outsource your drafting. Our CAD drafting on commission covers preliminary designs, floor plans, elevations, sections and detail drawings. We also produce as-built drawings (drafting for construction), shop drawings for interiors and bespoke furniture, and electrical drawings. We redraw old paper plans or PDFs to scale, with layers: that is plan digitising.
How a drafting job runs
- Your files. You send whatever you have: a sketch, a PDF, photos, an existing DWG, dimensions or plans.
- Agreement and quote. We agree the purpose, scale, level of detail, layers or template, file format and timing, then send you a quote.
- Drafting in AutoCAD. We draw to scale, with dimensions and a clear layer structure, and ask any questions along the way.
- Check and delivery. You receive DWG, DXF and PDF. If anything needs changing, we discuss it with you.
No usable plans or dimensions, or old plans that no longer match reality? Then we add an on-site survey, within the service area described below.
Site surveys by experts, setting out from Lauwe
Lauwe lies between Menen and Kortrijk, close to both the language border and the French border. That location decides where we survey on site: West and East Flanders on one side, Hainaut and the Lille area on the other. Our experts measure with Leica laser measuring instruments on a tripod, using point-to-point measuring, and draw everything up in AutoCAD. Because we speak Dutch and French, a survey in Mouscron or Roubaix runs just as it does in Kortrijk. West Flanders
West Flanders is our home region. Here we measure kitchens, staircases, interiors, facades and window openings for joiners, interior fitters, kitchen makers, contractors, architects and homeowners. We also check angles, squareness and sloping walls, to avoid surprises during installation. Places we work include:

East Flanders: Ghent and the surrounding area
In Ghent and elsewhere in East Flanders, we survey the existing conditions of a house being renovated, a kitchen or fitted cupboard for a joiner, or a stairwell for a new staircase. After a renovation survey, we draw up the as-built drawings: floor plans, elevations and sections.

Hainaut: Mouscron (Moeskroen) and Tournai (Doornik)
Mouscron is right next to Lauwe, just across the language border. Tournai lies further south. In Hainaut we work in French, from the quote and the site appointment to discussing the plans. The files are the same: DWG for further drafting, DXF for CAM and nesting software, PDF for reading and printing.

Northern France: Lille and the surrounding area
Halluin lies just across the border from Menen, with Tourcoing, Roubaix and Lille a little further on. There too we work in French and deliver plans to scale, dimensioned in millimetres. iMesure is not a land surveyor. For property boundaries or boundary marking, you need a licensed land surveyor (landmeter-expert) in Belgium and a géomètre-expert in France.

Frequently asked questions
Can I outsource drafting to iMesure if I am not based in the region?
Yes. Drafting on commission is done remotely, so distance plays no part. You send sketches, construction drawings, PDFs, photos or old plans by email or download link. iMesure draws everything up in AutoCAD and delivers DWG, DXF and PDF. Old plans often differ from what is actually there, though. Within our service area, an on-site survey can check them.
Does iMesure carry out surveys in Ghent or Bruges?
Yes. iMesure carries out surveys in Bruges and elsewhere in West Flanders, and in Ghent and elsewhere in East Flanders. We set out from Lauwe and schedule the survey with you. Our experts measure on site with a laser measuring instrument on a tripod. We then draw everything up in AutoCAD, and you receive the plans in DWG, DXF and PDF.
Does iMesure also work in France, for example in Lille?
Yes. iMesure carries out surveys in northern France: in Lille, Roubaix, Tourcoing and Halluin. Lauwe, where we set out from, is right by the border, so this area is part of our regular service area. We work there in French and deliver the same plans as in Belgium: to scale, in DWG, DXF and PDF. For property boundaries or boundary marking in France, you need a géomètre-expert.
Can iMesure carry out surveys in the Netherlands?
Yes, on request. The Netherlands is outside our regular service area for surveys, so we look at each job separately. Tell us the location, what needs measuring and which file format you need, and we will let you know whether we can fit it in. Drafting on commission without a survey is always possible, because it is done entirely remotely.
Which languages does iMesure work in?
iMesure works in Dutch, French and English. That applies to the quote, the site appointment and discussing the plans or the drafting. A survey in Mouscron or Lille therefore runs the same way as one in Kortrijk. Let us know in your request which language you would prefer to work in.
