iMesure is a drafting office and measuring company in Lauwe (Menen), Belgium, close to Kortrijk and the French border. Our main work is drafting on commission in AutoCAD. Measuring by experts is our second pillar, for when there are no usable plans or dimensions. We work for interior fitters, kitchen makers, joiners, contractors, facade specialists, architects and homeowners. iMesure is the new name of dimensie.xyz.
What does iMesure do?
iMesure draws up plans on commission in AutoCAD: floor plans, elevations, sections, detail drawings, as-built drawings, shop drawings and electrical drawings. We work from your sketch, PDF, photos or existing plans. If dimensions are missing, our experts measure on site. You receive scale drawings, dimensioned in mm, in DWG, DXF and PDF.
Drafting on commission
When you outsource drafting to us, you send what you have and we turn it into plans you can use straight away. That can be a single plan or extra capacity during busy periods.
- CAD drafting on commission: preliminary designs, floor plans, elevations, sections and detail drawings, 2D and 3D presentations, and permit application plans to your architect’s requirements.
- As-built drawings: drafting for construction. We draw the existing or completed situation for a renovation, regularisation, permit application, sale or rental, from existing plans and data and, where needed, a site survey.
- Shop drawings for interiors and bespoke furniture: workshop and assembly drawings, developed elevations and preparation drawings with dimensions and material lists, with DXF for CAM/CNC and nesting.
- Plan digitising: paper plans, old tracings or PDFs redrawn as DWG to scale, with layers.
- Electrical drawings: single-line diagram and electrical layout in AutoCAD, based on information from your electrician or installer.
Files go back and forth by email or download link, so for drafting, distance makes no difference. For an overview of everything we draw and measure, see our services.
How a drafting job works
- Your input. You send what you have: a sketch, PDF, photos, an existing DWG, dimensions or plans.
- Agreements and quote. We discuss the purpose, scale, level of detail, layers or template, file format and timing. Then you receive a quote.
- Drafting in AutoCAD. We draw to scale, with dimensions and a layer structure. We ask questions as we go, rather than guessing.
- Check and delivery. You receive DWG, DXF and PDF. We discuss any changes together.
The how we work page also sets out the steps of a site survey.
Measuring by experts
If there are no usable plans, or reality differs from what is on paper, our experts measure on site. We measure rooms and interiors, kitchens, stairs and facades and window openings.
We work with professional Leica laser measuring instruments on a tripod. With point-to-point measuring, we record points in the room from a single set-up, including points we cannot touch, such as a ceiling, a ridge, the edge of a stairwell opening or a facade. The measured points go to the computer digitally. We check angles and squareness with diagonals, to avoid surprises during installation. We then draw it all up as an AutoCAD plan, with a survey report and photos. See equipment and software for more.
What we stand for
- Dimensions that hold true. We draw with supplied or site-measured dimensions, not with what an old plan promises. An out-of-square wall or a reveal narrower than expected goes on the drawing.
- Clear agreements up front. Before we start, we know what the plans are for, what level of detail you need and in which format you want them.
- Plans you can use straight away. DWG to keep drawing, DXF for CAM, CNC and nesting software, PDF for reading and printing. To scale, dimensioned in mm, in a clear layer structure. On request, we work to your layers, pen settings and templates.
- Also without AutoCAD. You can view DWG files in the free DWG TrueView or Autodesk Viewer.
- Three languages. We work in Dutch, French and English.
What we do not do
iMesure is not a licensed land surveyor (landmeter-expert). For plans attached to a deed, boundary marking or land subdivision, you need a licensed land surveyor. Nor are we architects: we do not produce designs that carry permit responsibility. An accredited EPB assessor draws up the EPB as-built certificate, and a recognised inspection body inspects electrical installations. We supply the plans, not certificates or inspection reports.
Where does iMesure work?
Drafting on commission works anywhere, because it is all digital. For site surveys, we travel from Lauwe to West and East Flanders, Hainaut (Mouscron, Tournai) and northern France (Lille, Roubaix, Tourcoing, Halluin). Further afield is possible on request. See the service area page for more.

Frequently asked questions
Is iMesure a drafting office or a measuring company?
Both, with drafting first. iMesure primarily carries out drafting on commission in AutoCAD: floor plans, elevations, sections, as-built drawings, shop drawings and electrical drawings. On-site measuring is the second pillar. We call on it when there are no usable plans or dimensions, so that the drafting rests on correct dimensions.
Can I outsource drafting without a site survey?
Yes. You send a sketch, PDF, photos, an existing DWG or dimensions, and we draw it up in AutoCAD. Files go back and forth by email or download link, so this works wherever you are. You receive scale drawings in DWG, DXF and PDF. With old plans, we sometimes recommend a check with a site survey.
How does iMesure measure?
Our experts measure with professional laser measuring instruments on a tripod. With point-to-point measuring, we also record points we cannot touch from a single set-up, such as a ceiling or a ridge. We check angles and squareness with diagonals. The measured points go to the computer digitally and are drawn up in AutoCAD as a scale drawing.
Is iMesure a land surveyor?

For plans attached to a deed, boundary marking or land subdivision, you need a licensed land surveyor. You can come to iMesure for drafting on commission and for surveys of rooms, kitchens, stairs and facades: plans for design, construction, production and installation.
